I must've dreamed a thousand dreams

Get haunted by a million screams

But I can hear the marching feet

They're moving into the street

Phil Collins, Land of Confusion[1]

The Nightmare Fleet is the Boo's Pizza II arc beginning on the fifteenth of November 2021. It is the sequel to Wart's Conquest.

The titular Nightmare Fleet had made appearances prior to the arc's formal beginning; a version of Wart revealed to be its leader.

Synopsis[]

Kooploz, having just been drinking his pain away aboard the Kooploz Space Casino, enters with Take into the room with the flickering light. This is revealed to be Kooploz's office for IPCF matters. Take admits that after this turn of events, he too requires alcohol.

Carbanzo's scanners detect the Nightmare Fleet's arrival. Vincent Carbanzo addresses his new employee Mike, indicating the war has now begun. Vincent then finds that his brother Walter had produced an entire army of Newman clones.

The de-Condemnation is witnessed by Wart and Mart. In excitement at the Nightmare Fleet's invasion, he screams one of his last words, "LET CHAOS REIGN!" while Mart watches with slightly less positivity.

Doctor Mario humourously recalls how he was impaled against a post van, which he still is at this point.

The effects of the de-Condemnation are immediately felt, with Guardia being threatened by the Nightmare Fleet and the Mario Bros. recalling the resistance against Disney. Furthermore, with Mart dead, the Gaian Empire is left without a leader, and is in a state of quiet disarray. The character of Major-General Theodoric Thiefighter is introduced as his temporary successor.

On the subject of government disorganization in the aftermath of Wart, a Regency Council consisting of the Six Sage sans Rauru had formed in Hyrule to quell the mass riots following news of Mouser's execution (King Harkinian was still stranded on the Wind Fish Island). Impa, the de facto leader of the group, departed with Gwonam to locate Link. Emperor Ludwig, having been previously mentioned to have been recently scammed by Army and Doug, loses the last of his stability and hides in a closet. Kamek is left in charge of the Koopa Kingdom's defense, a task that the alcoholic Magikoopa is not qualified for.

Not even the Nightmare Fleet is aware that they are invading the Prime Universe when the herald makes his declaration.[2]

Upon the Nightmare Fleet's appearance, Dedede concludes his speech to the wolves on Wind Fish Island, attempting to convince them to his cause after he brainwashed Chevs to serve as his puppet. Dedede's employer, Robert Ombonaparte, and his co-conspirators Moses Waddington and a fanatic Mike Daira then arrive and demand wolven troops to hunt down Yamcha and Puar.

Natalie returns to Mark's home after being kidnapped, much to the relief of James. However, Cayde remains in the captivity of Leon and Tom.[3] Later in the night, James and Natalie learn from Mark and Zerris the tragic death of Anna Huston.[4]

Take had flown back to Sarasaland to rendezvous with David Henry Middlethwomp and James Chaincaster, who unbeknownst to him were now working with Ombonaparte and Waddington. Upon finding them absent, Take is ordered by Kooploz to return to the Space Casino. Kooploz then calls Gaia, and reveals to a confused Thiefighter that Mart is dead.[5] It should be noted that this plot summary is extremely out of order, and the majority of this arc is from the perspective of the Shilens and Hustons.

In what is quite possibly AwdryFan's longest post, Kooploz holds a meeting with Rufus Shinra and Ted Thiefighter that clarifies a great amount of lore surrounding the Nightmare Fleet and Boo's Pizza in general. The basic gist is that The Planet is now blockaded by the Nightmares and Kooploz's solution to the conflict is to ally with everyone against the common threat in order to make the IPCF appear powerful.[6] That was literally two sentences, lol.

Back at the Huston residence, shit's going down. A Nightmare platoon led by the alternate universe's Mike Daira begins an assault of the nearby military testing range, beginning an invasion of Sioux Falls.[7]

Thank you! ... d'ya still like the pig? He's an old pig, but he's still a big pig... this next tune... [is] for all the paranoids in the audience... it's called "Run Like Hell". RUN LIKE HELL!! IT'S CALLED RUN LIKE HELL!!! ... *weird chipmunk noise*

Roger Waters, directly before performing "Run Like Hell" in Earl's Court on 9 August 1980.[8]

TahDiscoBall posted "ahem" without context and later deleted it without context.[9]

Like fireworks, an extraterrestrial invasion is not very enjoyable for one with autism, thus Siy is reliant on Zerris and a plush toy of Daffy Duck to remain level-headed.

Take calls Army and Doug to retrieve them from their vacation, which is now going sour thanks to the Nightmare Fleet's invasion.[10] Once that conversation is over, he reluctantly contacts Magus to enlist his help against the Fleet.[11] The latter post is a contender for the second longest post by AwdryFan1997.

Alternate dimension counterparts of Pinky and the Brain are introduced. Mike still exists, and departs with Walter to lead the Newman army against the Nightmare Fleet. In the midst of the Fleet's ground invasion, Doctor Mario's postvan is destroyed, conveniently next to Dieter, who he begins chasing, still impaled.

While the Shilens and Hustons are taking shelter from the repeated bombings, the Nightmare Fleet's Mike Daira forcefully enters in search of Cayde.[12] A tense encounter then follows, before Nightmare Daira realizes Cayde is more likely on the Wind Fish Island, ironically thanks to James' remark. However, Cayde and Sylvie have deposed their captors and end up going to the same Waffle House that James, Natalie, and everyone else visit.

Nightmare Daira arrives on the island and meets his Prime counterpart, as well as Dedede, Ombonaparte, Pinky and the Brain. The Dairas put two and two together and realize the true identity of Cayde Shilen, the Wartslayer. Chevs' brainwashing begins to weaken.

Meanwhile, the Shilens discuss their intent to move to Florida, specifically of concern to Siy. Once all is decided, The Shilens give their home to Mark and Zerris.

Nightmare Daira idiotically snaps Chevs out of his hypnosis in his zealotry. Chevs' acting eventually drives a rift between Dedede and Ombonaparte, and this argument drives Robert Ombonaparte to his breaking point. The destruction of Freddy Fazbear (I don't know either) causes the would-be tyrant to break, and Dedede sends him flying before he explodes and dies.[13]

Nightmare Mart, having grown tired of Wart's conquest, decided to turn against his brother/cousin for a wide variety of reasons. After Kooploz faxes Hig Bead for the final time, Nightmare Mart ambushes him and leaves him with an ominous warning of his upcoming resurrection.

Nightmare Daira reveals the truth of Wart's intentions with Cayde, causing Chevs to critically injure Daira Prime. However, he is defeated by Dedede, who is now in charge of the situation because hammer.

The Shilens meet and greet with their relatives, Uncle Cole, Aunt Laura and the young nephew Michael. Meanwhile, Dr. Nefardio is speedrunning Minecraft on Twitch for the ten millionth time. Cayde, who had had a nightmare about Wart, realizes that Chevs is in danger due to Nightmare Fleet-related matters.

HAMMER

The curtain that closes during Waiting for the Worms, just before the Hammers march by.

Trivia[]

  • Several musical references are made, in particular to Pink Floyd's The Wall, during the attack on Sioux Falls.
    • The alternate Mike Daira shouts "Goodbye, blue sky!".[14]
    • Jimbo shuts the curtains of Boo's Pizza in a manner similar to the animation for Waiting for the Worms (as well as the live-action scenes from the film adaptation).[15]
    • All of these references are hella cringe.
      HAMMER Monday edition

In the film, this was preceded by scenes of civilians taking shelter from the "hammers".

  • The de-Condemnation is implied to have deposited all Square characters in their native times, as Magus is residing in the remains of 12000 BC rather than whatever he was doing when we last saw him in Boo's Pizza 1.
  • The Boo's Pizza iceberg was drafted by Gorozoron during this thread.[16]
